unusual day

I don't remember an election day like today: my windows are open, I can hear the gulls out over the water, and I already voted along with many many other folks.

It'll be near 70 today, and I hope many people take the day off.

I'm giving my students "extra-credit" if they wear their "I Voted Today" stickers.

Am relieved Ohio isn't the sole "decider" that it has been, but I don't like living in a toss-up state.

Is it my imagination, or are perfect strangers being more civil to each other?

I'm wondering the same thing. I was at mall C on Sunday fully expecting drunk Browns/McCain fans to be ... well you know. No, I didn't see any of that. It was eerily civil.

I agree - this day seems unique - unusual for a voting day - the weather - the hope.

It was a beautiful day when Bill Clinton was elected as well. I remember everything about it--it was so hot, I went running in shorts and a T-shirt. I felt as if the whole world were singing . . .

Today it's almost as great except Jim is at the polls as an observer at this church where the pastor tried to have him removed--and other excitement has been taking place. Sigh.

Its a new world and I feel alive and hopeful again. The clouds have lifted and the sun is warming my face and I can breathe.....
