living without the electronic fire

No cable + no converter box + old television = NO TV. It's been 5 nights (never watched during the day). Kind of miss that narcotic flickering, but maybe I'll get some reading done. Anyone forgoing the TV set?

No TV for me either. But I have internet access, so I do watch Friends reruns and such online.

"electronic fire"

very accurate.

I'm TVFree. Now I can read Jane Austen instead of watching movies by/about her. And Flannery O'Connor can smack down Conan O'Brian anyday.

My converter box barely works, and I am happier with less TV because they are a bunch of jerks anyway. I get plenty jerks at pbs.org as it is.

I avoid the TV anymore. The internet is now my primary source of electronic fire.
